The Jump/Cut Film Challenge includes a rare opportunity to work with a team of veteran filmmakers who will mentor, inspire and assist our filmmakers as they prepare to make the Jump/Cut on their way to the big screen. This fast-paced, 72-hour guerrilla-style filmmaking adventure brings 12 teams of intrepid filmmakers from across the region together to pitch, write, cast, shoot, edit, and screen their 5-7 minute films in the lovingly restored historic Marion Theatre in Downtown Ocala on Sunday, March 19 in a competitive screening followed by a lively wrap party and awards celebration.
Mentors for the Challenge will be led by SSIFF festival director, Greg Thompson. The mentors for the Challenge will represent every aspect of film production, working closely with each team throughout the process. Our 2017 mentors will be announced soon – stay tuned!
The Ocala Film Foundation will work with community leaders, businesses and residents to “open doors” and offer access and ease for our filmmakers to take advantage of all that the area has to offer in the way of locations, local talent, film enthusiasts/volunteers and production resources.
